Work in Progress
We build bridges
as we break them,
speak truths
in riddles we don’t understand.
Are we growing together,
or tangled in the illusion of unity?
Is love the anchor,
or the weight pulling us under?
Perhaps we are neither whole nor broken,
but always shifting—
never still.
About This Poem — Work in Progress
Not every relationship exists in clear definitions.
Some connections live in uncertainty — constantly evolving, constantly questioning whether growth and struggle can exist in the same space.
This poem came from thinking about the complicated nature of love and partnership. The way people can build each other up while simultaneously misunderstanding one another. The way connection can feel both grounding and overwhelming at the same time.
"Work in Progress" is about emotional movement — the realization that people are rarely completely whole or completely broken. Most of us are simply becoming.
Some relationships collapse under change.
Others survive because they continue changing.
This poem lives somewhere between those two realities.
