Behind the empire
Gibson’s parents disappeared when she was a child while supposedly working for the U.S. government, leaving her fiercely loyal to a country that may know more about her family than she does. Elaine Holt later believes she killed Gibson during a boat-related incident, but Gibson’s skill as a swimmer and sailor becomes central to her survival. As Soucouyant, Gibson also falls in love with Sandoval, forcing her patriotism, mission, and private heart into direct conflict.
