Before We Ignite

Your skin against mine—

heat rising,

a language only we can speak.

Each breath is slower,

deeper,

as if the world itself

pauses to watch.

This moment,

just before we give in,

is its own kind of ecstasy—

the anticipation,

the ache,

the beautiful tension

of everything about to ignite.

About This Poem — Before We Ignite

Sometimes the most powerful part of intimacy isn’t the moment itself.

It’s the anticipation before it — the silence, the tension, the feeling of knowing something is about to change between two people.

This poem came from thinking about closeness as energy rather than action. The way desire can slow time, sharpen attention, and make even small moments feel unforgettable.

"Before We Ignite" is about that suspended space between restraint and surrender — the beautiful tension that exists just before two people fully give in to connection.

Some moments burn brightly because they happen.
Others burn because they almost do.

This poem lives in that second space.
